Easter Food

Easter is right around the corner. As you may be planning menus for Easter Brunch or Dinner, why not add in a little treat for your pup?

Below is a recipe that is both healthy and easy to make

Carrot Biscuits For Dogs

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup carrot purée
  • 1/2 cup carrot purée
  •  1/3 cup water
  •  2/3 cup whole wheat Flour
  •  1/3 cup oat flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder
instructions
Preheat the oven to 400°F/200°C.
Blend 2 carrots with 1/3 cup of water.
in a large mixing bowl, combine the two flours and cinnamon.

TIP: if the dough is too sticky, add more flour. if it is too crumbly add more water

Roll the dough on a floured surface until it is about 1/2 inch thick.

Use cookie cutters, ideally easter themed like i show below, to cut out shapes.

Transfer the cookies to a baking tray lined with parchment paper.

bake the doggie biscuits for 13 to 15 minutes or until done.

of course, make sure they are cooled completely before giving to your dog.

Too Busy?

sometimes life gets in the way of making things from scratch.  thankfully, there are some festive pre made treats you can buy online at places like etsy.

Regardless of whether you make treats at home, or buy them.  Why not also add to the fun of hiding their treats into easter eggs?  Dogs love playing games, and this would be a fun way to celebrate easter with your dog!

Accessorize

If you are going to be taking pictures on easter, make sure your pooch is festive too!  some bunny ears are a quick and easy way to dress your dog.
